Dr. Altaf Qadeer
Dr. Altaf Qadeer is an accomplished researcher in the field of science education. He is a member of NARST, USA (A global organization for improving science education through research). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), UK. He is also a member of European Science Education Research Association (ESERA). He has served as the Adjunct Professor and Site-Coordinator at York University, Canada (for teacher practicums). He is also an external associate with Robarts Center for Canadian Studies & YCAR at York University. He has also participated in a workshop Educating Global Citizens through the professional education program of Harvard Graduate School of Education. He has made contributions as a researcher at the Department of Science Education, Faculty of Educational Sciences, Granada University, Spain. He has worked as an educator for a long period in various parts of the world, including his long work in Canada. He was also a member of the Master of Teaching, MT Partnership Advisory Committee (OISE), University of Toronto and a member of ICDE (which is a key partner with UNESCO).
His research is published in International Journal on Math, Science and Technology Education, The Journal of Physics Education & George Eckert Institute Germany (Leibniz Institute for Educational Media). His creative approaches include, Creativity Inspired Science & Inventions (CISI), Citizen Education Science (citizen science + education), research journals for children (in simple form), MATHMAT, Multiple dimensions of environment, CLIMOWATCH, Safety education for all, multilingual power to enrich global interactions. The Toronto Star has also published his ideas. He is also a recipient of the New Pioneers Award.
His work about languages is published by FID4SA, Heidelberg, Germany. He presented in the international symposium on STEM education, ISSE, 2016 and the International LUMAT Symposium, Finland. An interconnected approach to creativity, success and happiness is also one of his contributions. The current research also supports some aspects of this approach. One of his research projects is included in the book: The Languages and Linguistics of South Asia- A Comprehensive Guide. His publications also include: The future possibilities for the science of education and the art of learning (creativity, education, making inventions, economic aspects) and Living in Multiple Nets - Pathways to empower creativity. He has also written about protecting our cognitive environment along with our physical environment, his work was published in 2000, which is also in the Bodleian Library, Oxford University. He has presented at various conferences and has delivered lectures on a range of topics.
He has contributed for various publications of the Jamaat. He was a recipient of Alam e Inami from Hazrat Khalifatul Masih III rh in 1978. Currently he is also serving as a member of Ahmadipedia (UK).
Dr. Zeeshan Bhatti
Dr. Bhatti has been working as a Senior Advisor/Watershed Hydrogeologist with the Government of Prince Edward Island since 2023. Formerly, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow andPhD Scholar at the University of Prince Edward Island and served as Deputy Director with the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources, Islamabad for 14 years. He is a seasoned engineer having project design and implementation skills in water, agricultural and environmental management. His internationally collaborated projects include WWF, USAID,UNICEF, ICARDA, and the University of Washington, etc. His works, like introducing climate-smart irrigation technologies and irrigation advisory services for farmers, are getting world’s appreciation. He has 28 national and international publications to his credit. A Professional Engineer registered with Engineers PEI and have completed certifications from ICIMOD, Nepal,University of Western Australia Perth, USGS Water Science Center Tacoma, Washington, andHydrological Engineering Centre Davis California, and Oracle Corporation USA.
Dr. Nuzhat Khurshid
Nuzhat Khurshid earned her PhD in political theory from York university in 2023. She currently teaches at York university, Seneca college and Aisha academy. Her interests include feminist theory, postsecularism, critical theory, Marxism, phenomenology, care ethics, Islamic philosophy and critical pedagogy.
Tashifa Imtiaz
Tashifa Imtiaz, BSc MSc, is currently a 1st year MD PhD student at Queen’s University. She completed her undergrad and Master’s degree at Queen’s University, Kingston, ON. She is now in the first year of the MD PhD program at Queen’s in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine. Her research interests are in bioinformatics, genetics and cancer.
Dr. Ali Al Buraki
Previously Professor at Damascus University, Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Ali Al-Buraki holds a PhD. degree in Life Science, Biology and Apiculture from Franche-Comté University, Besançon, France; an M.Sc. in Neurosciences and Behaviour from the University of Franche-Comté, Besançon, France; and a B.Sc. in Agricultural Sciences from the Damascus University of Agriculture, in Syria. Dr. Ali Al-Buraki’s research covers: supervising and directing 8 Master and PhD. students till graduation. Publishing more than 50 scientific articles and reports in Arabic, French and English. Author of 3 books in Apiculture (Beekeeping) in Arabic, wildbees and entomology, writer of many journal articles.Teaching: Entomology, Insects Ecology, Apidology (Apiculture), beekeeping skills. Dr. Ali Al-Buraki’s experience includes: President of Syrian Beekeeper’s Association (benevolent work) for 10 years which had 13 Branches in mains cities in Syria. Dr. Naveed Aziz
Dr. Naveed Aziz serves as Chief Executive Officer of CGEn, Canada’s national research enterprise with a mandate to make cost-effective high-quality research technologies a reality for Canadian researchers.
Dr. Aziz’s leadership has enabled Canadian leadership in fundamental and applied research in the field of genomics, playing a key role in supporting the advancement of technological developments within the field of genomics and providing solutions to pressing global challenges related to health and related sectors. Dr. Aziz has represented Canada at several national and international committees, including Ministry of Science & Innovation, U.K. and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), where Dr. Aziz shared his expertise, insights and best practices with peers from around the world.
In addition to being awarded the Canadian Association of Research Administrators (CARA) 2022 Research Partnership Award, Dr. Aziz was also named one of Canada’s Emerging Executive Leaders by adMare Academy Executive Institute in 2018 and included in the list of Canada’s Top 20 Dynamic CEOs by The CEO Publication in 2021.
Dr. Aziz is a molecular geneticist by training, holds an MPhil in Biotechnology and a PhD in Genetics from U.K. After completing his Research Fellowship at the Noble Research Institute, USA, in 2014, Dr. Aziz pursued an Executive MBA from U.K. and is a graduate of the Leadership training program from Harvard Business School, USA. His previous roles include serving as the Director of Technology programs at Genome Canada and as Head of Genomics at University of York, UK.
Dr. Ijaz Rauf
Dr. Ijaz A. Rauf is an accomplished researcher and educator who has always been fascinated by the world around him. From a young age, he dreamed of becoming a physicist, and he pursued his passion by earning a Ph.D. in Physics from Cambridge University. With expertise in Lean Six Sigma and data science, Dr. Rauf has developed a pioneering approach called Digital Lean Sigma, which he uses to solve complex business problems across various industries. He also leverages his network of university contacts to facilitate cost-effective fundamental research for his clients, allowing them to innovate new products and services. As an Adjunct Professor, Dr. Rauf specializes in nanotechnology, thin films, and nanomaterials, particularly their applications in solar cells and nano-biotechnologies. He has also delved into Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, leading a team to develop algorithms that can predict diabetes using electronic medical records. Dr. Rauf’s exceptional work has garnered international recognition, including a “Science” magazine feature. Dr. Tammara Soma
Dr. Tammara Soma MCIP RPP is an Assistant Professor at the School of Resource and Environmental Management (Planning program) at Simon Fraser University and Research Director of the Food Systems Lab. Originally hailing from Indonesia, she conducts research on issues pertaining to food loss and waste (FLW), institutional food procurement, food system planning, food access, and the circular food economy. Dr. Soma is a Co-editor of the Routledge Handbook of Food Waste, and co-founder of the International Food Loss and Food Waste Studies group, a global network of food loss and waste researchers and practitioners. Dr. Soma was selected as a committee member of the US National Academies of Sciences and co-authored the consensus study A National Strategy to Reduce Consumer Food Waste. She leads numerous tri-council funded research projects and is routinely featured in international and local media (The Guardian, BBC, CBC, TVO, CTV, National Observer, Chatelaine and more). In 2021, the Food Systems Lab was recognized as one out of the four women-run projects that are redefining agriculture by the Canadian Organic Grower. Tammara was a 2021 YWCA-Scotiabank finalist for the “women’s of distinction award” in the sustainability category She was also named in Chatelaine magazine as one of the 10 inspiring Canadian women saving the environment and a Style Canada 30 Changemakers. In addition to food systems research on earth, Tammara is a Research Affiliate with Project Galileo at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics where she contributes her expertise to exploring the societal implications of the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. She is a registered professional planner and a proud mother of three.
Dr. Maleeha Qazi
Dr. Maleeha Qazi is currently completing her medical residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Toronto. She has dual training in research and medicine, having completed her PhD in Biochemistry at McMaster University and her MD at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on the study of primary and metastatic brain cancers, with a particular interest in studying resistance to our current treatments and identifying new therapeutic targets.

During her graduate studies, she was the recipient of the prestigious Banting and Best CIHR Doctoralship and was nominated for the Governor General’s Gold Medal as the top PhD student in the Department of Biochemistry. During medical school, she led the University of Toronto Medical Journal and Toronto Notes as the Editor-in-Chief. She has published over 20 research articles, 2 books and book chapters, and has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences.
Farhan Iqbal
Farhan Iqbal is a Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He received his degree in Islamic Theology and Comparative Religions in July 2010 from the Ahmadiyya Institute of Islamic studies, located in Maple, ON, Canada. He completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies from York University in 2020, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Religious Studies, with a focus on Biblical Studies, from the University of Ottawa. He has served as a Missionary in Ghana, United States, and Canada. He served at Baitul Islam Mosque, Vaughan, for 5 years, and was posted to Ottawa in 2017. He has also hosted several live and recorded programs on MTA (Muslim Television Ahmadiyya). He has co-authored several books, including Understanding Islam: Dispelling myths about Jihad, and is the author of The Myth of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
Dr. Marya Ahmed
Dr. Ahmed is Associate Professor in Department of Chemistry and Faculty of Engineering at University of Prince Edward Island. She acquired her PhD from University of Alberta, in Chemical Engineering, and worked as post-doctoral fellow, at California Institute of Technology and University of Toronto. The research themes in Ahmed laboratory are focused on the development of controlled release biomaterials to treat drug resistance disorders. She has co-authored of 54 publications, 85 conference proceedings, 3 patent applications and 16 book chapters on the topic of drug delivery. Ahmed is also a recipient of NSERC New Frontiers and Canadian Cancer Society Emerging Scholar Awards.
Dr. Asad Naveed
Dr. Asad Naveed, a Postdoctoral Fellow in Trauma at St. Michael's Hospital, earned his MBChB (MD) from the University of Sierra Leone and contributed to Ebola virus disease research while serving on the frontlines. He furthered his education with a Master's in Public Health from the University of Washington on a full scholarship. He has received prestigious awards, including the Fulbright Scholar and Queen Elizabeth Scholar. Currently engaged in various research projects, including non-compressible torso hemorrhage, rib and spleen injuries, and acute care surgery models, Dr. Naveed combines systematic reviews and hospital data projects. Under the mentorship of the trauma surgery team at St. Michael's Hospital, he is poised to make important contributions to trauma research.
Asif Ali Parvez
Asif Ali Parvez, based in London, UK, began his education at Talim ul Islam High School, Rabwah, and earned an M.Sc. in Physics. He served as President of the Abdus Salam Physics Society at Talim ul Islam College in 1970. In 1971, he received a Merit Certificate in M.Sc. Physics from the University of Punjab and was appointed as a Lecturer in Physics at Talim ul Islam College by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih III (rahmat Allah ‘alayhi), even before his M.Sc. results.

Prof. Parvez dedicated three years to Waqf in Sierra Leone, West Africa, working with the late Mubarak Nazir Sahib, former Chief Missionary of Canada. In 1977, he moved to the UK to study computers at King's College, London. He has over 35 years of experience in senior positions as a computer consultant.

An ardent admirer of Professor Abdus Salam, Prof. Parvez has delivered numerous lectures and written extensively about Salam's life and achievements. Since February 2014, he has authored 92 articles for Almanar UK, a magazine for alumni of Talim ul Islam College. He has also created over 30 YouTube programs titled "Holy Quran and Science."
